ABOUT
MARTE Contemporary/ MARTE Contemporáneo (MARTE-C) is the contemporary art program of the Art Museum of El Salvador (MARTE). Established in 2004, MARTE-C began the program Intervenciones/Interventions that providing a platform for artists to experiment and interact with fellow creative minds. Since then, MARTE-C has established a permanent program hosting three annual exhibitions featuring internationally and locally recognized artists, ongoing lecture series, cultural exchanges as well as artist portfolio reviews by invited professionals. MARTE-C is championed by its’ board of directors, program advisory group and two executive staff members.
MISSION
MARTE Contemporary/ MARTE Contemporáneo (MARTE-C) aims to actively promote intercultural dialogue and exchange in order to expose the El Salvadorian contemporary art community to critical discourse and international opportunities, to introduce art professionals to contemporary art in El Salvador, and to promote the value of contemporary art to the El Salvadorian public.
